Information system in an organization

 Information System

System means :. A set of elements joined together to achieve a common goal.

For example

A computer , we called as a system .. because the three components input ( keyboard, mouse), processing ( CPU/ Processor) and             output( Monitor display or printout) joined together to achieve a common goal.

In an organization , the input (raw materials), processing ( Production or Manufacturing) and output( finished or semi finished goods),so we call organization as a system.

Information system

System producing information as the output is called information system.

Processing - Manipulation of the data

Output - Information

For example

A sales team noted down the number of devices sold from Monday to Saturday, and reported a detailed report to the branch manager, here daily data noted down (data), weekly report prepared (processing) and the information (output) submitted.
